Legal Work Authorization (I-9)
Applicants must possess valid, legal authorization to work in the United States (U.S. Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid EAD/Visa). PUREKING complies strictly with I-9 verification protocols. Cash-in-hand or unauthorized employment is strictly prohibited.
Mandatory Live Scan Background Check
In compliance with California State Law (AB 506) for youth service organizations, all candidates must pass a comprehensive California Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI Live Scan fingerprint background check prior to onboarding.
SafeSport & Safety Certifications
Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain U.S. Center for SafeSport Certification alongside valid Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED certification from the American Red Cross or AHA within 14 days of hire.
Technical & Professional Criteria
What we look for on the court.
- +Competitive badminton background: Prior experience at Collegiate Club, NCAA, Provincial, or National/BWF circuit level is highly preferred.
- +Proven coaching track record: Minimum 1–2 years of demonstrated coaching experience across junior recreational camps or high-performance 1-on-1 private training.
- +Player development philosophy: Ability to design progressive curriculum for multi-level groups — from beginner footwork to elite smash mechanics.
- +Professional demeanor: Energetic, growth-minded, and fully committed to PUREKING's premium training culture and brand standards.

- +Bilingual fluency: Exceptional English communication skills are required. Fluency in Mandarin or Cantonese is a massive advantage to effectively serve our premium Irvine community demographic.

- +Flexible availability: Willingness to work evenings and weekends during peak program seasons — our members train on their schedule, not ours.
