Player Pathway · K–12
Develop the player. Grow the person. Build what comes next.
PureKing combines high-level badminton coaching with match experience, thoughtful feedback, technology, creativity, and long-term player development.
Six areas of growth
Skills matter. So does how a player moves, competes, handles a tough loss, helps a teammate and makes something of their own. Our coaches pay attention to all of it.
Move
Athletic movement
Coordination, balance, speed, agility and recovery — the base every shot is built on.
Play
Skills and game sense
Strokes, footwork, shot choice and court awareness that hold up in a real rally.
Compete
Match experience
Match Play, tournaments and the habits that help players handle the big points.
Grow
Character and confidence
Resilience, focus, coachability and sportsmanship — on the court and off it.
Lead
Responsibility
Leading warm-ups, helping newer players and showing up for the team.
Create
Projects beyond the court
Video, data, design and technology projects that start with a love of the game.
Five stages
Stages follow school grade, so the focus fits where kids are in life. Skill level is separate — your coach sets it, and players can start at any stage.
K – Grade 2
Love movement. Learn the game.
Grades 3 – 5
Build skills, confidence and curiosity.
Grades 6 – 8
Play matches. Take on challenges. Discover strengths.
Grades 9 – 10
Sharpen your game. Lead. Create.
Grades 11 – 12
Deepen your game. Build meaningful work. Leave something behind.
Paths
Every family wants something a little different. Tell us your goals at the level check, and your coach will recommend a path for the season. Goals change — so can the path.

A free 5–15 minute, in-person chat with a coach. We ask about experience and goals and may watch a few shots.
Pick what matters most this season. Your coach recommends a class and a path that fit your player.
After class, coaches note what’s working and what to focus on next, so you’re never guessing.
As the season goes on, talk with your coach about progress and the right next step — another class, Match Play, a first tournament or a break to build fundamentals.

Grades 9–12
High school players can take on more: captain a Match Play group, help run warm-ups for younger kids, or build a project around the sport — a video series, a stats tracker, a design. It’s real responsibility and real work, done alongside their game.

FAQ
No. Competing is one path, not a requirement. Plenty of players grow through classes, clinics and Match Play without ever entering a tournament.
Stages follow school grade and shape what we focus on. Levels describe skill and are set by your coach. A ninth grader who is new to badminton starts at a beginner level — and that’s completely fine.
Yes. A path is just the focus for a season. Talk with your coach any time your goals change.
