How the night works

Our quarterly singles challenge for academy players and guests. Pool play first, then a knockout bracket in every flight.

Ranking points

Points count toward the quarterly ranking for each flight.

Placement points: Champion 100 · Runner-up 85 · Semifinalists 70 · Quarterfinalists 55 · Last 16 40 · Out in pool play 25.
How they add up: Players who go out in the same round get the same placement points; each match win adds 5.
Third place: Both semifinal losers share third place and get the same points.
Small flights: A flight played as one round robin places by its final standings: 1st gets champion points, 2nd runner-up, 3rd and 4th semifinalist, 5th to 8th quarterfinalist.
No-shows: A player who does not show up for a match gets no points for it, and a player who did not play any match gets no placement points.
Rankings: Each flight (for example, Boys Singles Flight A) has its own ranking. Points stay with the flight where they were earned; a player who moves up starts the new flight at 0.
Quarterly ranking: Adds up each player's points from the last 12 months. The event standings count this event only.
Ties: Players level on points are split by their placement points at their most recent event, then by match wins.
Next event: The quarterly ranking is used to seed the next ranking challenge.
